Well, it's time to convert your website into a mobile version.
Why?
iphone is now selling re-furbished iphones for $99.00 (so practically anyone can afford an iphone) - AND Walmart is now selling iphones. That means that this product will now be more in the mainstream than ever. The number of mobile phone users continues to grow, despite the global recession. And what is the mantra for Internet marketing?
GO WHERE YOUR AUDIENCE IS
Yes, the "build it and they will come" mentality doesn't work so well with Internet marketing. What does work is to go where your audience is. Are they on Facebook? You better be on Facebook. Are they on Google? You need to be on Google. Are they on Twitter? You have to be on Twitter. Get the idea? If your audience includes the age group of 50 years or younger, they're on mobile. So, you must be on mobile.
So, what does that mean? To go mobile I mean?
1) It means you need a mobile version of your website. Preferrably, a .mobi domain name associated with your website. Then a reconstructed website under that .mobi domain name.
2) Yes, this means purchasing another domain, asking your designer to create a mobile friendly version of your website and updating the .mobi version everytime you update your .com version.
It may be a bit more costly at the beginning, but you're essentially increasing your target base. So, what's the worth of your customers? What is your profit from each sale? Calculate how many sales you need to cover the cost of going mobile and I'm positive that you'll be able to recoup that and much more by the end of the year. Going mobile is one of the next big steps that you can take to market your business. So, what are you waiting for?
