A few days ago I suddenly have checked google's application "site"--it's great! Software wise it seems to me much better than blogs and knols. I've already opened several sites but only one public:
Wlod.

SOUTH WESTERN UGANDA
Lake Bunyonyi, Kabale, Kisoro, Mgahinga
Kigezi region is located in the southwestern corner of Uganda, one of the most attractive and distinctive parts of this country. The typical scenery found here is steep hills of terraced cultivation, giving off a patchwork effect. This region is extremely fertile because of the volcanic soil and ideal climate for cultivation crops. The largest town in the area is called Kabale, a friendly town where it is often said, that some travele…

Oh, but you'd be surprised how many websites miss this point!
Think about it - search engines are just machines. All they can do is match up the words that people type in to their computers and laptops and mobile devices - with the words that are on the website pages. Or blog pages, or press release pages, etc. You get the point. Yes, there are semantic rules, there are placement rules, there are many rules, but the bottom line is if your audience is typing in "abc" and you're marketi…

What do people search for on the Internet? You'd be surprised!
One way you can find out is to check out Google Trends' HotTrends section. They list the top 100 search trends. Today is November 24th and a pattern emerged on today's list, the pattern is "Thanksgiving". I bet you think people are searching for things like...
How to cook a turkey for thanksgiving.
Recipes for thanksgiving.
Well, maybe they are searching for these but not enough times to make it…

"I typed my name in and I'm nowhere on Google?"
Usually, a day or two after I begin marketing a new website, I get this question in an email or phone call. Even though on the proposal I sent out to the client and on the contract I have the client sign it clearly states that it takes 3-8 months to get listed and ranked in Google's engine. But, the questions still come. So, to answer this question, here's a quick little summary of how Google lists sites.
1) Contrary to what…

I am happy to announce the launch of my blog-magazine on Google Knol -
Knol Today.
It contains interesting knols and news on Google Knols. The main idea is to pick fascinating knols and build buzz on Google Knol, which in my opinion, is way, way much better than Wikipedia (and Squidoo).
Any KnolStuff members want to join as an author? Please let me know if you do :)

Getting top rankings on Google is not as impossible as it may seem. It depends, of course, on the keyword phrase you want to get top rankings for. But one factor that often gets overlooked when websites pursue top rankings is the incoming links. Whether it's one way links or reciprocal links, incoming links play a very important part in gaining those precious top Google rankings.
So, with that in mind, let's perform an experiment.
1) In Google, type the phrase "

A computer is a machine that manipulates data according to a list of instructions.
The first devices that resemble modern computers date to the mid-20th century (around 1940 - 1945), although the computer concept and various machines similar to computers existed earlier. Early electronic computers were the size of a large room, consuming as much power as several hundred modern personal computers.Modern computers are based on tiny integrated circuits and are millions to billions of times more ca…

It is a "network of networks" that consists of millions of smaller domestic, academic, business, and government networks, which together carry various information and services, such as electronic mail, online chat, file transfer, and the interlinked web pages and other resources of the World Wide Web (WWW).

I woke up this morning and the first thing that came to my mind is Google. Google as a search engine, Google as Gmail, Google as an advertising company, Google as a blogging platform known as blogger. The google services that am actually fascinated about is blogger. Blogger kept me awake this morning.
You know, somehow Google is a very generous company in the sense that, the give you a free blog, you monetize it with google adsense and other programs all for free and if you produce relevant and…
